Homework
STAR Homework
Students will receive homework nightly. Students can expect math homework Monday through Thursday to practice skills learned in class. Most weeks, a reading comprehension assignment will be sent home on Monday and will be due back on Wednesday or Thursday. All students should also be reading for a minimum of 20 minutes each night (more over the weekend :-)) and will have a reading log to complete.
Students will also receive a STAR homework calendar each month. STAR stands for Students Taking Academic Responsibility and the ultimate goal of these assignments is for students to take ownership of their learning in order to achieve their goals and make progress. STAR assignments will include: spelling practice work, math fluency practice, and tech tasks. Check the websites link under the "more" section on our website for links to websites for a tech task. Please note that STAR homework assignments are optional. Students may complete these assignments as they choose but any and all STAR assignments completed will be beneficial to making progress.
